Who I Once Was

I am everything I said I never would become
yet who I once was is not who I am now.
The party animal, sipping on my glass,
tequila pouring from my every gland,
never knowing which way was up,
which way was down.
Then here you came,
floating by like a feather in the wind,
slowly taking me in as if I were your new passion.
Calm, analytical and practical,
that is how I would describe the new me.
The newer, more advanced version of myself
that I hate a little less each day.
While I may have been the person I said I would never become...
I worked like hell to become her and never look back.
