The Cliffs of Moher

                I am Japanese,
although my mother came from Ireland
On the other side of the world,
a place by the sea
at the edge of the other great ocean,
and before she died she told me
if I put my ear to the ground
I will hear waves crashing
against the Cliffs of Moher
and remember the beating of her heart.
