Always looking forward to identify their future victims,
They purr and preen,
Stalking unsuspecting quarry,
Ruffling up their camouflage of feathers and fur,
Setting the stage for the drama of their lives to be played out on,
Using clothes as props,
Bait for dedicated followers of fashion,
Poised to pounce,
Their fickle, feline fancy used to dictate the latest trend,
Cheshire cat like smiles conceal their thoughts,
As they toy with their prey,
Before sending them scurrying away,
Clutching a fashionistas dream;
The latest version of the Emperor’s New Clothes.
