Under the enormous weight
of water, miles past
where any light
might still penetrate,
in the dark
in the cold
your cool blue glows
a word in the language
of luminescence.
A bright warning,
or a welcome.
or simply a name
repeated,
moving through the black
extremities
where life finds new ways
to become more
than accidental.
