Rise

If Lazarus did it, so can I.

I open my eyes and I see the water.
The breath that follows is already above the surface -
All the things I used to know,
they are now sunken.

And so I rise.

I do not seek reward nor to blame.
What I seek for, again and again,
Is to seize the pull that drove me out
of the water.
