choose?—one
after the other,
each says “pick me”—

this one holds
the sun, this one
resembles the sea—
each has its own
temptations—but
is every portal,
any portal, ever
really open?—
what will we be
given, what
will be taken
away by time?—

all of it
deception, only
a mirror image
meant to be
played with,
