Pigs and Pixels

I remember when we used to grunt,
rub snouts and wiry whiskers,
entwine tails, exchange nose rings.

Now we embellish words with different fonts,
emojis, gifs and cute piglet pictures,
when there’s a world, a universe we could be exploring.

I miss the mutual grooming and the thrill
of touching skin and flicking ears,
all the little things that show we care.
