Pearl

Lustre of oil on water, rainbows,
as fairy godmothers wave wands.
Stars fall into formation.

A Cinderella carriage awaits
and the princesses are pendants,
suspended mid-stream.

In fluid pearly waves,
iridescent dreams multiply
after sunset, before sunrise.

From below, this world is
luminescent, reminiscent.
Thin layers of light scatter.

Strangely, a Luffa floats in the sea,
fibrous skeleton divested
of seedy earthly treasures.

It could be a sky full of planets,
or a daydream ocean, pure, cleansed.
This is the world we deserve.
