My First Parachute Jump

I am an acrobat,
descendant of acrobats
who entertained in ancient Chinese palaces.
I fall through folds of oxygen,
geyser-foam, slivers of silk
under a dome bathed in aquamarine.
The South China Sea brims onto the sand,
casts shells and salt at my feet.
I make snow angels, smile at the dangerous sky.
