Matching

With their colours matching, red moon, red coat,
there was just a matter of distance
and perspective. She was small in its presence,

but once in space she knew she would float.
It was such a huge leap, from skin to moon rocks,
even in new boots, gloves and thermal socks.

But the colours matched, red moon, red coat.
Once on its surface, which she hoped would be soon,
the leaps would improve, with no gravity on the moon.

She imagined looking down at the distant blue planet,
colours still matching, red moon, red coat.
