Icing on the Cake

Crumble, verb, to fall apart when pressed
become a biscuit base,
a fudge of uncertainty,
feeding stomached butterflies
and sometimes sharks
who rise, tart and acid
when it is time to test and judge
melted moments, the disappointments
life handed on a plate,
forgetting that the chance to lick the bowl
clean, is the best bit,
spun sugar for the soul,
and anything else
is just the icing on the cake.
