Holocaust Eclipse

The dragon wells inside me before he
Thrusts his claws through my breast and
Climbs into earthen air.

His crimson scales trap sunlight
I watch shadow slither across his being
With wine for eyes and moonlight for breath
He wraps his tail around the globe and
Anoints it with reveries.

I will not cry for yesterday and
All that was. The past departed on
Aqua wave and tumbled over the
Cusp of horizon.

I look to the future
Where the dreams of tomorrow
Dance in the space between his tail and forehead and
Moon rays are cut into music by blackwood pallet slats.
