Grandmother’s Kitchen.

I see in reverse,
all the little pots, pans, jugs
pitchers, that made Grandmother’s
kitchen so complete.

She is no longer there,
basting, cutting, carving,
preparing our food.

But given the chance,
she would return,
ringed fingers restless,
playing with potatoes
mashing parsnips
