Immediate interests are a tangled wood
In which we stumble, fall and lose our way
We call for help but those who should are deaf
To cries, entreaties; we can only pray
To old gods, stir them from their age-old sleep –
Europa! Use seduction to subdue
The bulls of finance who ignore the truth
Before our eyes: urge measures to break through 
Their disregard of what is all too true:
Wildfires consuming land and human life 
Global warming making glaciers fall
Drought and famine now where crops once were rife.
Oil men, you’re smart, but nature’s smarter still,
When drowned in ice melt, who’ll then pay your bill?
