Emotions

As I looked in my girlfriend's beautiful brown eyes full of tears at her mother's funeral, I realized the many non-verbal emotions that human beings experience throughout life. I gave my girlfriend my pocket handkerchief to wipe her eyes while she continued to cry. The drive home after the funeral was the worst. She regretted not telling her mother about the abortion she had in college. I was speechless keeping my eyes on the road while the heavy rain made it hard to see. 45 minutes we get home and the phone is ringing off the hook. My girlfriend still sobbing answers. The person on the phone told her that her mother's horse hadn't eaten for days. We rush to the stable, after 15 minutes the horse gets up and opens his eyes. My girlfriend stops crying and tells the horse "I understand your emotions."
