Paper planes
fly above a purpling
landscape, blood pooling
beneath damaged skin.
This world's trying to heal,
trying to remember
what it felt like before the fight,
before the knock-down,
before the birth of one small
boy or another, or all of them,
in the dingy locker room
behind the ring.
