A Fractured Day

Vaccinated, masked, isolated, but still she fell.
The stretched arm failed to protect.
Her silence was broken.

An image showed her bones had lost integrity
needing realignment. She harboured doubt on
the loss of continuity, the journey to come.

Bones anchored, cast on the promised path.

Home, she wept the tired tears of her pollarded tree
mourning the cruel callus. Then she hugged in safety
her broken silence.
