Curious

You will pore over photos.
You will look at the giant heads of those
who gave you everything they had
to let you live curiously.

You will wonder if your shadow touched
the right things, or at least things
they would have said ‘Wow’ to
when hearing all about them.

You will feel warm at the idea of them
asking questions and will allow yourself
to, just once, drown in that dream.

You will show the photos to someone
who doesn’t care until they are old enough
to wonder what the fuss is all about.
