Our Daily Bread
I, a Mainer,
conditioned to think of lobster
as my alter ego—
no, that's not right.
I mean (Pavlov's dog
in the lower right hand corner),
This is a horn of plenty
without the horn.
A fest without a feaster—
except for the eyes.
And if one's eyes are bigger
than one's stomach, all the better.
I seem to be talking about something.
Food. Is a picture a substitute
for the real thing?
Try it, and eat the menu.
