Sweet Assurances

Fret not,
and please don’t worry
your pretty little head
over these dark clouds
we’ve been living under.

This harvest of wheat
may well be
laced
with GMO chimera DNA,
but our bodies
are resilient
against the corruption
of science gone mad,
and our will
is strong enough
to carry us ahead
toward a brighter future.

This chaos storm
of socially engineered decadence
may have seemed
as if it were
never going to pass,
but the Summer Solstice
has smiled upon us once more,
lifting the veil
of its fiery halo
to rise up high
