He could be one of my sons, or a friend;
smudge of guy-liner, man-bun going on.
"Where’d you get that hair-cut man,
the place with the big window?
They saw you coming."
Picked up the necklace on his travels
blessed by this monk he met.
"It’s an amazing place and the people
are so friendly, I’m going back
when this is all over."
Did he travel too, hang out with friends,
did they laugh at his hairstyle, slap
him on the back and go out for beer?
The ancient Egyptians had beer
and friends and mothers
and plagues and death; just like us
except with added afterlife.
