Planktonic
Already the edgeshad tattered into
microplastic: ragged,
eternal, eaten
by plankton.
It hung, suspended
in water, like jelly
from a wrecked medusa,
the bag handle gathered
like nerves in living tissue.
The blind ocean seemed to give it mind,
drifting with a purpose:
there forever, and
gradually choking everything.
