I am prevented from going beyond here.
All my life I wanted to go further than the present would allow.

Bound by past experience — a worry band,
tethered my thoughts
pretended rational thinking.

Now it bites my eyes,
Blinded by this veil —
I perceive nothing.

I can search for the future
Or break free from the ties.

Because I see my limitations,
Could this mean I see who I am —
and then the tethering disappears?
